Family trees

Next Tuesday, we will be making family trees in class. Mapping out a family tree can be a great opportunity for younger children to learn more about where they come from. Please send pictures (not originals as they will be glued onto construction paper) of individual family members (mom, dad, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers) by Tuesday, September 10^th.  

 

Homework

Homework plays am important role in reinforcing the course material covered in class.

I understand that students and their families lead very busy lives. Students are expected to do homework each night. However, should you have something important going on in your family life, please let me know and I can accommodate you.

 

Here are some of the components you can expect.                              

Reading Program: In French, most of the reading will be done in class, but please encourage your child to read in French as it is a good way to learn a second language. I do expect the children to read at least 10 minutes in French each day.  In my opinion, this is the most important homework assignment that I give.  The only way to become a better reader is to practice reading.  It also helps with vocabulary development of a second language.
